How the numbers work
Narration runs at roughly 130 to 170 words per minute depending on the voice and the mood. Pick the pace that matches your voiceover and the length updates.
Beats
Short-form videos hold attention when something on screen changes every couple of seconds. The beat count assumes a new visual about every 2.5 seconds, which is the rhythm our styles are built for.
Caption groups
Captions read best in groups of one to three words, breaking at punctuation. That's how the generator writes them, so this is the number of caption cards your video will show.
The hook
Viewers decide fast. The calculator times your first sentence and flags it if it takes longer than about two seconds to say.
